Calvary United Church is an Affirming Ministry.

Calvary United Church believes that all people are created in the image of God and in Jesus Christ. We are all ONE.

We are committed to creating a community that celebrates the diversity of God’s creation, which includes age, gender identity, racial/cultural backgrounds, sexual orientation, differing abilities, ethnic and theological backgrounds, spiritual beliefs, economic circumstances, and all definitions of family.

As a congregation, we celebrate the full rainbow spectrum of human diversity and respond to God’s call to love and compassion. We are willing to share our faith and our gifts to do whatever God calls us to do. We will do so with compassion, fun, courage, and laughter.

We pray for God’s spirit to guide us as we work for reconciliation and acceptance for all people in both the church and society.

Calvary United Church is Grateful for the Land We Share

The land on which we gather is Treaty Six Territory and homeland of the Cree, Dakota, Dene and Metis people.
We respect the sacredness of our ancestors, the home we share, and the ground on which we walk.
We are grateful to gather here together, in peace and in hope.

What to Expect Sunday Morning...

We don’t have a dress code for Sunday morning or any other time.
People come to our church as they are.  Some people do like to dress up on Sunday mornings, but if you come in jeans, you won’t be the only one.

An Elevator is available for access to all levels of the church.

Coffee is always on!

Choir practice begins at 9:30 am. Anyone who likes to sing is welcome to take part!

The last Sunday of each month, starting at 9:30am, Calvary's pick up Gospel band brings their instruments for a sing-a-long. Play an instrument or like to sing? Please join in the fun! Lyrics are projected onto a screen.

You will be met with a friendly greeting before entering the Sanctuary.

Yes! We have a Sunday School program!

Please sit wherever you'd like! Seats are first come first serve.

Announcements begin at 10:20am.

Service starts at 10:30am. If you'd like to join in, the responses and hymn lyrics are projected onto a screen, the bulletin can be downloaded here or from the QR code on the Sanctuary door. Large print bulletins and hymn books are available as well.

An Offering is collected during the service. Calvary United Church is completely run by the support of its congregation and community. For any and all that is given, we are very grateful!

Please join us after worship for Fellowship, Coffee, and Snacks! We have a "House" System to help us organize this time together so everyone has a chance to contribute.

A few other facts about Calvary...

When we use the word “church”, sometimes we mean our physical building and sometimes we mean the people who attend and support our church.  For us, a church is much more than just a building.

Children are always welcome at Calvary.  We treasure the presence of our young people.  And yes, we know children squirm and run and talk, that’s what makes them who they are.  We enjoy it!

Bring your sense of humour to church - we all need it!  Jesus had a sense of humour so we try not to take ourselves too seriously.
We believe our God is a playful God.

Don’t be afraid to come to church if you are hurting.  Those of us who are already here are here because at some time we have been hurting, and the church and our faith have helped us cope.  We recognize that bad things happen in this world and sometimes the only response is to cry and be with others.

We make mistakes.  If you feel excluded by our church or if someone offends you, please let us know - even if anonymously.  We want to be a place where people grow, as individuals and as a church.

HAVE QUESTIONS?

Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions, comments, or feedback!
We look forward to hearing from you!
