OUTREACH
Building a strong community is very important to us. At Calvary, we strive to enhance and support the community around us through many programs, some that continue throughout the year.
CAMP TAPAWINGO
From their website: Camp Tapawingo was founded by a small group of United Church ministers and their young families back in 1948 to provide an experience of fellowship in nature. The word Tapawingo means “a place of happiness” and this is what we try to send the campers home with. Our goal is to provide a positive experience for the campers through making friends and most importantly, having a lot of fun in God’s special place. Learn more about Camp Tapawingo.

CARE & SHARE FOOD HAMPER PROGRAM
Our Food Hamper program is run by a wonderful group of volunteers who work with organizations around the city. Donations of food items are always welcome and can be dropped off at the church. Always needed items are: Kraft Dinner, Dry Pasta, Pasta Sauce, Canned Vegetables and Fruit, Pork and Beans, and Cereal.
Please note that our program does not deal directly with clients. If you are in need of a food hamper, please have a social worker, school mentor, or similar reach out on your behalf.

LENTEN LUNCHES
These much-loved noon hour gatherings bring together Clergy and Congregations from across the city. They include a time of singing, reflection, and of course a soup and sandwich lunch by donation. They are held at Calvary United Church weekly during the season of Lent.

During the cold weather months, we collect items for our Mitten and More Tree. Thank you to everyone who donated so generously to the Mitten and More Tree! We will start collecting warm weather items again in the Fall.
