CALVARY COMMITTEES
Committees
There is a lot to do to make sure that we worship, give, serve, teach and learn, pray and gather as a community. Paid staff cannot come close to doing it all, so we need people to give their time, their energy, and their talents to volunteer positions in the church. Many of these volunteer positions are on church committees.
CHURCH COUNCIL - meets the second Tuesday of each month
Christian Education – organizes Sunday School, supervises the Youth Group and creates other children’s events
Fellowship – plans and organizes social activities for the congregation
Living Skies Regional Council Representatives – represent Calvary United Church,
attend meetings with the Regional Council and report back to Council
Ministry and Personnel – supervises and supports the paid staff at the church
Mission and Outreach – supervises and organizes programs to help those in need and to
educate the congregation about justice issues and the Mission and Service fund.
Pastoral Care – organizes visits to our members who live in care homes in Prince Albert,
supports Care Home Worship, delivers communion, and sends cards
Property – maintains and repairs the church building and grounds
Stewardship – encourages generous giving to the church and our ministries and looks after the church finances with the Treasurer
Worship – works with the minister to plan worship and decorates the sanctuary for worship.
